[F2] Seul's Mixtapes [Open]

Recommended Posts

Word has spread of a new shop performer's shop opening up on the second floor. Located in the central marketplace of Urbus lies a cozy, brick building hidden among the ocean of stands with a simple sign on the door that reads: [Seul's Mixtapes]. One can always hear the sweet melodies of ocarina music flowing from within and the owner, Seul, is happy to provide players with  special song recordings to help aid them while out in the field.

He was finally ready to for business. It had been a while since the boy embarked on the quest for his profession and despite his previous attitude toward crafting, he felt that it was probably better to make use of the skill than not. Sitting behind the counter in his shop with his feet propped up on it he began to play a song into his recording crystal. In the end it was a simple monster attraction song that would summon foes and offer higher rewards in the process. Satisfied with his work, he placed the little crystal on a nearby shelf and gave an approving nod to a craft well made.

It was time for his second song. He managed to play a sweet melody but in the process lost one of his recording crystals. At least he had a vanity song to use despite it not providing any buffs whatsoever. It wasn't a bad haul for today, he just hoped he could do better tomorrow. With that he placed the crystal on the shelf labeled 'Bad' and gave an approving nod at his creation before closing up the shop for the night. There would always be more songs to make but those would have to wait for another day!

Seul had been in his shop trying to create the next big hit for the players in Aincrad. He played his ocarina into the recording crystal but each note came out strained and the whole song ended up being unlistenable. How an instrument with such sweet tones could produce somethin so horrid was beyond him. Or maybe it was the performer that was bad. Nah. It couldn't have been him. The game should've made it physically impossible for him to sound bad while playing an instrument. Except when it came to crafting apparently. He couldn't lose hope though. After another attempt he managed to whip up another song that was passable for a sale. It would have to do for today.

The music was with him today. The flow of the song was just too amazing to give stop now. With each sweet note that rang from his ocarina he imagined just how this song would be able to attract monsters and offer high rewards in return. It was magical. Truly the most beautiful piece he produced up till that point. With a satisfied expression he took his crystal over to a shelf marked as 'Rare' and returned to work. With his success so far he decided to go with a less serious song for his second attempt. It turned out well, but sadly didn't provide any benefits. Oh well.

Sitting in his shop, Seul decided it was time to start working on his next great masterpiece. The day was turning out to be everything except fruitful though as each and every song he managed to churn out was utter garbage. Two mat's down, his supply was starting to run low. He decided it was time to close up shop and restock, only to try again in the morning.

The music just wasn't with him today. Seul had tried his hardest to produce a song worthy of being heard out in the field but fate wouldn't have it. The figured that was enough for today and placed his terrible song on the shelf under the 'Bad' section before closing up the shop.

She entered the shop and was met by a wonderful music. She have herd the performers name was Seul. When she spotted the one that was playing she turned her steps towards him."Hi Seul, my name is Zandra. Pretty nice music you play, is it possible to buy some songs from you?"

(OOC: Holy ballz, a potential customer! I should probably pay more attention to my own shop. @-@)

@Zandra Zvift

Seul had been sitting behind the shop's counter with his feet kicked up and a small flute to his lips but nearly dropped the instrument as the girl entered his store. He hadn't been open long and his stock wasn't exactly diverse but for whatever reason she decided to come to him in search of music. "Welcome! Thanks, I aim to please. If it's music you're looking for then you're in the right place. What type of song were you interested in buying?"

The boy's jaw nearly dropped as he heard the request. In all this time since the shop first opened he had only managed to produce a grand total of 3 songs that were actually worth selling. There was no telling how long it would take to make an order of that magnitude but he staved away any notions of failure before answering. "As of right now I have two uncommon attraction songs and I just made a rare one a little while ago so if you want all of them it'd be 400 Col. The two uncommons would just be 200 Col. I'll also get started on your order, but it may take some time if you don't mind waiting a little."

It was time to get crafty but as fatae would have it there would be no good songs to be made today in Seul's Mixtapes. With his luck down he placed the failed song on the 'Bad' shelf ad went to bang his head upon the counter.

Seul sat at the back of his shop, playing away as usual. Today's yield had been better than the previous day's as he managed to produce a song of the rare quality which he then quickly scooped up and placed on the appropriately labeled shelf in the form of a crystal. He smiled at the new creation as he could feel his skill as a performer improving despite all the failures.

Upon agreement of terms between herself and the player, Opal had found herself at a quaint little music store on the second floor. She had been messaged by this player that he was interested in joining the KoB, and she was interested in his profession as well. Raven hair flecked with highlights danced in her face as she made way to the counter.

"Hey there. I'm just dropping these off for you so you can get back to work upgrading your profession rank. We'll go out hunting some time and get more mats when you need them. Until then, these should last you for a good bit."

The boy couldn't help but sigh softly. at the disappointing yield today's labors produced. There wasn't anything particularly special to be shown, and instead of composing some masterpiece it would seem he'd have to settle for the steaming piles of... Bad music that flowed from his ocarina. "I'm not reaching rank two at this rate..." But then again there was always tomorrow. Who knows? If the Cardinal is merciful enough he may be able to craft something worth listening to.

Today proved to be somewhat more productive than the previous day. An uncommon song was born and as such he was able to gain more experience in the ways of making music. Finishing off the last of his work, he took the new song and placed it on one of the display shelves that lined  the store before closing up for the day.

Well today just wasn't his day. Though there weren't any items o be had, he did manage to reach the next rank and as such would now be able to craft items that were actually somewhat useful. The thought was comforting and he'd simply have to brush off the current failures to stay strong for tomorrow.

This is why he hates crafting. For whatever reason the young performer could never seem to be able to make anything that was halfway decent. His luck in battle was better than his luck in the shop and in a way he was somewhat thankful for that. But come on, how was he supposed to earn a living if all of these mats were going straight into the trash?!

You'd think as much as he played the damn Ocarina he'd be able to make an item that was actually worth selling. But no, the fates loved watching him fail over and over again as mat after mat was wasted on songs that wouldn't even pass for music, let alone provide combat worthy effects. He sighed. At least there was always tomorrow.
