[PP-F1] A (sort of) reunion. (Elul) [COMPLETE!]

Recommended Posts

Whit zoomed past the marketplace, energy unrelenting. "'Scuse me." "Pardon me." "Screw you John."

A player looked up from the npc menu, "how did he know my name?"

"Wonder if anyone was really named John?" Whit shrugged, sidestepping to dodge another bystander. "Wait what was I doing here?"

Coming to a skidding halt and a flick of his right wrist, Whit opened his menu. "Friends, Elul, find" he mumbled to himself as if giving himself instructions, "ah ha, she's in the park!"

Elul sneezed, forcing her mouth into her sleeve out of habit. A sense of dread had came down her like something really bad was approaching. It was the same feeling she got at night when she felt something was watching her, Elul attempted to shrug it off, but it held on like a lock.

Elul looked around, no one was in sight.

Elul pretended to ignore the feeling instead focusing on ber sandwhich.

Target spotted.

Whit slid into the bush behind Elul's spot on a bench, watching for her to look away. He reached through the bench, grabbing her dagger and her napkins.

He quickly wrote "RUN!" into the napkin with the dagger and replaced both.

Elul took another bite of her sandwich, causing a bit of sauce to splash on her lips. Out of reflex she grabbed her napkin, wiping her face with it. It felt, odd, ridges in the napkin that weren't normally there. She lifted it from her face, seeing that someone had cut the word RUN into it. Elul immediately jumped, searching around, no one was in sight, What the heck!? "Who's the-re?" Fear had gotten ahold of her voice, no one was in the park. Elul's mind began to race, who or what was stalking her?

It's a ghost its has to be, but who- Whit, he went up to the sixth floor even though I told him not too. Oh its all my fault, I should've convinced him not too, and now he's going to haunt me for revenge.

Upon this thought Elul scurried up a tree, holding onto the limb for dear life, waiting for a human to come by before climbing down.

Whit popped his head out of the bush, "hey Elul did I scare-? Huh." Elul had dashed up a tree while he wasn't looking, "Jesus, you got fast, did you gain the athletics skill while I was gone or something?" Whit had always known Elul to be a scaredy-cat, but bugeezus, all he'd done was write the word run into her napkin and she was already up a tree needing the fire department to come save her. "I really have got to teach you to man up, I bet you haven't even left the city yet have you." Whit climbed out of the bush, brushing leaves out of his hair as he walked over to Elul's tree.

Elul face turned to horror as she saw the brunette walk out of the bushes.

Oh no, he really has come to haunt me, he's going to drive me insane until I commit suicide.

Elul shook her head, No, ghost or not, I won't be pushed around 'cause I'm smaller. Elul unsheathed her dagger and took a swan dive off the branch diving straight down. Elul's heart jerked as Whit sidestepped, causing the knife to strike dirt. Pulling the dagger out of the ground, she put on her strongest war face.

Which wasn't much.

Elul pointed the dagger at the ghost, "I know that you liked to settle things with games, so if I win you leave me alone."

(OOC: Since this is a safe zone we'll still use the health system, but upon reaching zero, the loser will be disarmed.)

Whit sidestepped at the sight of the dagger headed for his head, grimacing as Elul fell to the ground.

"Do you really hate me that much?" Whit felt a little uneasy, "then fine, I accept." Whit quickly withdrew his sword and rushed Elul, slicing diagonally down-left and knocking Elul back. "Sorry Elul, but I've been training, and frankly you're kind of the only friend I have, so I'd rather not leave your side until one of us die."

Elul's GP: 1/4

Damage done: 2

Elul stumbled backwards, the ghost had replicated Whit's prowess with a sword perfectly. Elul gritted her teeth, she wasn't going to lose to an after image though. Elul closed the gap in-between them and drove the dagger into his heart. Elul jumped back entering a defensive position, Dagger in front. Elul could feel her loose grip, another hit could knock it out of her hand.

GP: 2/4

Whit put a hand over his chest, a slight slit where his heart was. "Wow, okay, not gonna lie, kind of a metaphor right there. It also hurts, ow." Whit sighed while charging forward for another slash, "seriously, what'd I do to make you hate me?" The slash missed, of course, Elul never fell for something twice. Whit had an idea, he began running in a zig-zag motion around Elul, trying to make himself a harder target to hit.

Elul covered her face, holding back tears, "Look, I'm sorry, I don't hate you, I know I should've convinced you to stay on the first floor, but you were so persistent in exploring that I couldn't stop you." Elul looked around at the blur around her, unable to see clearly with her eyes filled with tears. She held her dagger close to her unable to move due to fear.

Basic attack= 1 DMG

Whit immediately turned to strike, tackling Elul and causing them both to fall over and her dagger flying. "Note to self" Whit groaned, "don't tackle opponents as a finisher." Whit faced up at the incapacitated Elul, "now what's this nonsense about convincing me to stay here?"

Of course in Whit's head he heard.

(OOC: Nice job, though Elul is built to be a support character so don't feel too proud.)

Elul squirmed under Whit's weight, trying to get away from him. It finally clicked as Whit talked, her logical side slapping herself for believing a ghost was going to kill her, especially Whit.

"I-I thought you were a ghost and had come back to haunt me for not convincing you to stay in the safety of floor one." Of course the haunting RUN on a napking scared her more, but it was mostly Whit coming out of no where that had frightened her.

Elul finally stopped squirming, her energy depleted from the fight. Now it was just a matter of if Whit would get off.

Whit rolled off to his left, "well you put up one heck of a fight, don't know if I'd wanna go up against you again." Whit let out a gush of air, "so anyways, I have got quite the story to tell."

"But first a hug, because I missed you."

It was an akward side hug, but it got the message down anyways.

"So anyways, if you can recall I went to the fourth floor because I heard it snowed alot there, and I quite like snow."

Elul nodded, but if that was the case, why did he stay for so long? Elul did have.a million questions, but tried to avoid flooding him with questions. Of course if he had just answered her messages, she wouldn't have been worried, nor would they had a little scurry five seconds ago.

"So yeah, I was having a good time, had a snowball domination, not to be confused with a fight, when suddenly a gummy bear came out of nowhere, of course it attacked, so I threw it off, but you know how accurate I am when it comes to throwing things, and it kind of broke some rare gear in this woman's weapons cart. The woman got mad of course, screaming at me and throwing snowballs at me. I semi-cut them in half, as best as you can snowballs. Some of her friends showed up and I had a great time getting my butt handed to me in a safe zone."

"And I basically had to pay it off."

Whit was always getting into trouble like this, it had become habit for Elul to flush when he acted out of the norm. His story made sense, but when had he been training? "Hey Whit?" Elul said whilst getting up to retrieve her dagger, "when did you have time to train?" She found her dagger in the grass, picking it up and placing it in the sheath at her waist. Elul walked back over to where Whit lay, feeling more relaxed that her best friend wasn't an undead being with a revenge plot in mind.

"Gummy bears."

Whit rolled into a sitting position, "I ate gummy bears, I beat gummy bears, I made my bed out of gummy bears, you know, the three main necessities of humans. Entertainment, eating, and sleeping."

Whit brushed his hair to get rid of any grass that had gotten in it, "Don't question it, just trust me on this. Also, I may have thrown up from eating gummy bears all the time, so that was fun."

Elul sighed, she was used to not questioning most of what Whit did. It was just common sense to ignore his antics at this point, especially since the alternative was going insane from trying to decipher what he said. Elul was pretty sure Whit did what he did for one of two reasons, he one did it for attention, or two did it because he didn't care about society's normal standard for human beings to function inside it. If we get out of this and people start diagnosing Whit with some kind of behavioral disorder, I think I'll have to tell them he was always like that.

Whit pushed himself onto his feet, twisting himself so his back popped, giving him the satisfaction of temporary relaxation after working hard. "So, I was thinking of doing what we usually do in other mmos, I go kill a thing and you help me go kill a thing, I mean, you did pick the first-aid skill right? So why don't we get to the front lines, and get to Kayaba so I can thank him, and along the way you can use your skill to help other people, okay?"

"It seems like a good idea, wait- did you say thank him, he's killed so many people though, please tell me you're being sarcastic and I'm just oblivious like usual." Elul had a worried look come over her face, "I mean I'll help you get to him for revenge, but why would you want to thank a murderer? He could take your life at any time too, I've watched innocent people want to leave and die at the first boar, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO THANK A MAN LIKE THAT?" Elul's face was near tears again, had she lost her friend as soon as he had come back?
