[PP-F1] In the hour of Twilight (Lowenthal)

Recommended Posts

Vayrin silently walked through the streets at her normal brisk pace. As they day grew older, the normal nighttime routine set itself in motion, and the sun's glare slowly disappeared over the horizon. She stopped for a moment and noticed how many players filled the cobblestone path. She observed as dozens of battle-weary players lingered into the town. Most had been out all day, fighting to improve their skills. This time of day was always one of the busiest, despite it being late. Taking her attention off the crowd around her she swished open her menu. Vayrin quickly pressed multiple options that displayed, here eyes reflecting the virtual screen's glow. She opened her map and spun through it. satisfied with the nearest inn, she made it her destination. She closed her menu and began walking through the giant plaza situated in the center of the town.

Lowenthal had spent a good day inside of another tavern. The sun had begun to set, and it was about time for him to head out. His body clock had turned opposite, and he slept during the day mostly now. Night time was better suited for him anyways, being the 'Master of Shadows' and all. He had just finished preparing his items and gear, before his nightly excursions. As Lowenthal exited the inn, he felt as if he had ran into another door. Checking again, he noticed he had bumped into another person. "Oh, [censored]. You alright?" Lowenthal asked, surprised. "That's my bad, I wasn't paying attention. I kinda spaced out." Lowenthal said, apologizing. Lowenthal held out his hand to the much shorter person. "I'm Lowenthal, Guild leader and Master of Shadows." Lowenthal said, introducing himself in the usual fashion.

As Vayrin rounded the street corner she found her destination. She began walking towards the door. Just as she reached her hand out to open it, it had done so by another player. She seemed to have had a habit into bumping into other people. She staggered a bit, but managed to keep her balance. She looked up at the person who had ran into her to apologize, but he had beaten her to it. She observed the much taller figure. He then introduced himself as Lowenthal. Guild leader. Vayrin spaced out for a moment, not really meeting many guild leaders. She had no idea any of them would be on the first floor at any given time. She quickly shook the thought.

"Oh..Uhh Hi. I'm Vayrin..." She said quietly, staring at the man. Not knowing what else to say.

Lowenthal looked down, at the shy and petite woman in front of him. "So, Vayrin. A pleasure to meet you." Lowenthal said, repeating the name so he could remember it. He'd met a lot of new faces recently and it was getting difficult to track them all. "Please, excuse me." Lowenthal said, starting to take his leave and stepped around her. He made his way a few feet out and turned back to her. "Actually," He said, halting his progress. "You wouldn't need anything, would you? You seem like the adventuring type, what with the sword you have equipped there." Lowenthal said, pointing to her weapon. "Actually, I'm a pretty high level myself." Lowenthal bragged. "So, if you'd like. I could assist you with a quest, or something?" Lowenthal asked. In truth he was bored. He had almost done every quest in SAO, and he was at that awkward grind where Low Level quests didn't grant nearly enough XP, and High Level quests were still out of his reach.

Vayrin stood there, listening to his response. The man simply greeted her, then walked away. Not knowing what else to say, she just turned towards the entrance of the Inn again and started to walk inside when he said something else. She turned in his direction. He asked her if she needed anything. At this Vayrin stood there, as he offered to help her with whatever it was she was doing.

"Oh. Uhhh." He offered to go on a quest with her, although she had never thought about it really. She simply assumed she was too low a level to go on any quests. "I'm only a level 3" She replied to him, smiling a bit. "I doubt there are any quests I can go on without getting killed."  She said again.

Lowenthal thought for a moment. "Level 3, huh? Well, there's Secret Medicine of the Forest, Earning a Living, and of course the Familiar quest." Lowenthal said, remembering those quests. "Well, unless you've already done those ones. Then, the rest are kind of overpowered." He said rubbing the back of his head. "Perhaps, something else then? Like, a few combat pointers, or anything really. Maybe even material gathering." Lowenthal suggested, only wanting to slate his boredom. "There's a lot of way to spend time, and get even stronger in the progress." Lowenthal said.

Well. Apparently there were some quests she could do. Not surprising actually. She just never looked into it before. Vayrin thought about it for a moment, then looked back at Lowenthal.  "I haven't done any of those actually."  Vayrin said.

"I guess I could try, I'll need the XP." She said again. This was exciting to her. Never been on a quest before, so she wasn't 100% sure on how they worked. She then looked back at Lowenthal. "I suppose I'll need a guide though."
