Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Opal stood amongst the darkness in Snowfrost, her hair specked with white from the falling snow as it traversed from the heavens and coated not only her figure but the ground beneath her feet. As the fresh powder lay, she walked with heavy booted steps towards the edge of the safe zone. Her caplette billowed around her as did the sheer white satin fabric wrapped around her waist. Amongst all the white, there was hints of red all over her, the color of the Knights of the Blood would conform to her being as this was the second guild she had been part which don the crimson color. Taking a heavy breath inwards, the woman held tightly onto the Masamune saya which could only be held in that sort of fashion. The blade itself was to large to be paired to her hip, and lengthy still across her back unless angled. Holding it was the best and quickest option now that the saya had a special latch which will allow her to remove the blade from the sheath without conflict. But here she was none the less out in the middle of the cold world. Her bitter breath blew outwards mixed with a orange mist as she plucked her citrus flavored cigarette from her lips which had been dangling for the moment. Orange filled the air with a strong aroma, she was having pre battle smoke break to allow her nerves to settle down. This would be her first exercise alone in a while. Most of her hunting had been with Kalesh and previously her former lover, Lawfer whom she had not heard of in a while. Stepping away from the boundaries, saya in one hand and cigarette in the other. She would show herself how dangerous she could be two the loathsome mobs of floor four. Edited October 29, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) As Opal stepped out of the safety of the safe zone, she began a slow trek in the darkness of the night, a place where she felt most comfortable and above all else alone. As her boots crunched in the hardening snow she was accosted by two crystal wolfs that she seemed to be treading on their territory. Giving a smile from her ruby lips, Opal had only but twist her hand as the saya came undone from the weapon, the lengthy blade now shining in the moonlight from above as she waved it back and forth drawing their gaze towards it. The first one leapt at Opal its fangs translucent like smooth glass as it came to tear a chunk of her flesh, however the evasive woman was able to dodge the first wolf all the while the second had tried to run into her as well. Swiftly and without hesitation, she bound to the left and right once more getting a few feet away. As she got into a poised stance with her blade driven upwards in her hands, the blade began to shiny in a silver ivory light as she was about to engage her most powerful AoE Sword Art <<Gen Getsu>> Rapidly, she took a step forward and like a flash the silver blade cut through the air against both crystallized beasts as their hides shattered before her eyes damaging them to the point where they both staggered in front of her. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 88/88 [Savvy Engaged, +1 BD next roll]Energy: 10/22Sword Art: Gen Getsu, 12 Energy, 54 Dmg - 11 Mit = 43 DmgCrystal Wolf 1: 1/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCrystal Wolf 2: 1/44 HP. 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36487BD: 10 [+2 Dmg]MD: 4-3ID: 36488MD: 6-3 Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) After her superb start, the woman had been too cocky with her AoE sword art and found that her right arm had been snagged by the first translucent wolf. The snarl and teeth digging into her flesh made her squirm to get it off and then proceeded to bash it's skull with one hand as it reluctantly let go but also her HP took a small dive. She was glad she ended up taking up the light armor skill at the very least for that 5 point mitigation. Stepping to the left as the wound slowly bled out with an orange damage indicator, the second wolf was about to making its strike. Opal was now alert and attentive of her surroundings and evaded the beast with a quick side step away from its lunge. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 80/88 [Savvy Engaged, +1 BD next roll]Energy: 11/22 [+1 Natural Regen, +2 Recovery]Sword Art: -2 MissCrystal Wolf 1: 1/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCrystal Wolf 2: 1/44 HP. 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36490BD: 1+2 = 3MD: 9-3 = 6 [+1 Dmg]ID: 36491MD: 4-3 Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Dodging the first Crystal Wolf was easy enough, the second got revenge on the back of her leg just as she dodged the first one, finding opportunity in her weak defense. With the wolf chomping down on her leg, the blade of her katana started to glow that familiar silver ivory color once more as it pulsated with light. With the two wolves in close proximity, the woman spun once on her leg and the blade slashed through the injured wolves until they shattered into glass and pixel. Their fallen corpses had given her two nice sacks of materials which will later be used for her own alchemy potions. Sweeping the air roughly with one hand on the hilt, she wicked away the digital blade matter and stood stationary allowing the natural regenertive properties to heal her wounds. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 72/88 [Savvy Engaged, +1 BD this roll]Energy: 12/22 [+1 Natural Regen, +2 Recovery]Sword Art: Tsumuji Guruma, -2 Energy, 7 dmg - 11 Mit = 1 dmgCrystal Wolf 1: Dead/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCrystal Wolf 2: Dead/44 HP. 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36492BD:8 +2 =10MD: 8-3 =5ID: 36493MD:9 -3= 6 [+1 Dmg]Rewards: +2 Materials Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Opal began to walk around in the snow covered earth once more, the frost light on her shoulders as she patted down the exterior of her stain cloth. Breathing slowly, she allowed the healing properties of her <<Survival>> skill to replenish the vital hit points she lost in the last throw down. She was confident she might be able to take on a mob of three on her next go and should she have to she had a decent amount of healing pots at her disposal. Leaning down in the snow banks the woman sifted through the snow to find any other ingredients for her alchemy, mats were always in high demand for whatever profession and hers was no different. Looking through a small snow covered log, she found nothing that would be useful for her profession and decided to move on to the next area. Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Taking a left in the field, Opal had found a frozen lake covered with a fresh powder of snow. She had wondered if the snow itself could be bottled up as an alchemy product. Surely enough it was a form of solidified water, and water was definitely a product of alchemy. Looking for a special area where she might be able to bottle up some fresh snow, she found a small little area where the snow was coming down heavier than the rst of the area. Her boots crunched under the frozen lake as she made her way towards the heavy downfall. Fresh snow sparkled like a diamond the closer she got to it. Flipping her skirt outwards to allow it to catch the breeze and billow outwards, she hunched over and fell on her knees pulling out a small glass vial. Unfortunately the glass shattered in her hands and she ended up cursing lowly at herself. Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Finally coming up to a familiar excavated area where she had been many times looking for materials, Opal dug through the snow once more and found several bunches of herbs that were clearly important to her alchemical needs. Plucking them from their rooted nest, the woman placed them in her inventory and would think nothing more of the matter. With her energy filled up and her HP revitalized to the point where she could slay more mobs, Opal took another few steps and went to Lawfer's personal hunting spot for Ice Golems. Brandishing her weapon she would find a small group of three and deal with the repercussions later, of course...she would not back down from the challenge she set herself. Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Whatever Opal did, the Ice Golems turned to her the moment she stepped in their field of aggro. Soft yellow eyes now turned red in their disconfigured heads. She took a step back only to be hit by two massive hurling boulders threatening to plow her into the snow. Her body was ravaged once, and then once more as these massive cold blocks slammed into her body. Dull dark orange splotches littered her body as she was driven back. With gritting teeth, she roared outwards and attacked the three golems with her highest powered AoE, once more enabling the sword art <<Gen Getsu>> as the silvery blade whipped around and cut through their leathery hide until the orange sigil covered their bodies as well. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 70/88 [+1 Savvy]Energy: 10/22Sword Art: Gen Getsu, 12 Energy, 42 Dmg - 11 Mit = 31 DmgIce Golem 1: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgIce Golem 2: 13/44 HP. 11 Mit, 12 DmgIce Golem 3: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36497BD: 7+1 =8 MD: 10-3 = 7 [+2 Dmg]ID: 36498MD: 10-3= 7 [+2 Dmg]ID: 36499MD: 7-3 =4 Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Not giving the Ice Golems time to capitalize on her wounded body, Opal once more engaged her <<Gen Getsu>> the blade pulsating with ivory glow as the silver blade slashed through the pale blue hides of the ice golems until their carcass was nothing more than a shower of pixels. Whipping her blade to the side, there was nothing more that needed to be done here. She collected a nice sack of col along with the dropped materials from the freshly downed golems. She rubbed her shoulder the tingly sensation from the attacks still lingering like a dull annoying pain until it quickly succumbed to nothingness and her body showing no signs of damage from that point on. Honey eyes sat over the dark horizon as she wondered about going deeper or turning back. To the hell with it! Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) With two rounds of battles under her belt, and achieving a three mob kill for the second, the woman swept her hands through ebony silken strands and smiled. Gloss ruby lips curved as she mentally congratulated on herself for achieving something she wished she could do for the longest time, to solo this floor without any problems. She looked down to the hand holding the perfect Masamune blade examining the curved sword as if inspecting it of any irregularities. Noticing none, the woman nodded and took off into the darkness of the night once more on this snow fallen floor. Feet walked slowly into the mush of the snow as she leaned down to examine a pile of rocks, none of which yielded any ingredients for mats. Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Dusting her hands off the cold snow, the woman could only sigh as her hunt for out of combat materials was becoming tiresome and boring. She wanted to test her blade out more on mobs and less time wasting on material gathering, yet she was confined to a handful of energy until it regenerated along with her health points. Seeing as complaining was not going to get her anywhere, the woman decided to leave the area and search for something else. Coming up to a frozen bed of flowers, the woman squatted down and combed the snow of any valuable items. This had caused a headache to occur as she scoured the small area and found nothing of remote interest. Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) As she had almost given up on finding any sort of materials in this frozen flower bed, a particular flower was shining through amongst the weeds. Bending over slightly and plucking the white rose, Opal found it to be alluring and gave her a brighter mood as the headache seemed to subside for the time being. And with that little bit of time to pass to examine the white frosted rose, her health and energy had maxed out once again as she was ready to take on another trio group of mobs. Looking for something other than wolves and golems, she set out for the frozen tundra in search of new prey. As she happened across a snow covered hill, she trekked upwards and found a serene and beautiful paradise hidden within this floor. A grassy knoll softly powdered with fresh snow set across a range of what appeared to be a lonesome trio of coyotes. ID: 36565LD: 18<<+6 HP Regen>> 88/88<<3/3 Energy Regen>> Full!! Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) As her foot crushed the white powder of the snow, the coyotes were immediately alerted of her presence. Orange eyes shot open as the first two coyote attacked without flaw. Their teeth sank into her flesh as she was rendered incapable of defending from the bites, her mitigation acting of only a small margin to aid her, but it was enough to stave off some horrendous wounds. Body littered with orange teeth and claw marks, the third coyote was slow to the party as sped by her. After being caught off guard from the first two, the third was predictable to dodge as she side stepped away and brandished her weapon in attempt to hack away at the first coyote. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 71/88 [+1 BD: Savvy]Energy: 20/22Sword Art: -2 Energy on MissCoyote 1: 44/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 1: 44/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 1: 44/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36566BD: 4+1 = 5MD: 9-3 [+1 Dmg]ID: 36567MD: 10-3 [+2 Dmg]ID: 36568MD: 7-3 = 4 Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 28, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) The coyotes had proved to be much more challenging game than the wolves. With her foot sliding over the snow, she was able to dodge the incoming attacks of the first two coyotes. Their snarls and bites could only be heard from a short distance as Opal evaded the oncoming attacks. Trivial matter aside as she landed on her right foot and it slid forward, off balance, she twisted her blade around and felt the warm gush of blood trickle to the surface, an orange streak indicating she had been injured for the voracious maw of the coyote who attempted to rip her arm off in the process. Kicking it in the head, the woman's Masamune pulsated to life with an ivory glow. Focusing on her power and sword art, she thrust herself headlong and swept the blade back and forth nailing all three targets causing their hides to blossom with orange streaks of damage. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 62/88 Energy: 9/22 [+1 Energy Reg]Sword Art: Gen Getsu, -12 Energy, 42 Dmg -11 = 31 DmgCoyote 1: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 1: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 1: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36569BD: 7+2 =9MD: 1-3 =0CD: 2ID: 36570MD: 6-3 =0ID:36571MD: 10-3 =13 [+2 dmg] Edited October 28, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Dancing and twisting in motion, Opal had engaged the <<Acrobatic>> skill to duck, weave and thread herself as the coyotes each took snapping jaws at her flesh. The creatures were unable to make a clean bite as Opal evaded each of the attacks with beautiful speed and grace. Her billowing armor pulled outwards from her as she moved in the depths of the cold air. Her white and red accumulating fresh snow as it fell endlessly from the heavens above. The coyote's paws were thick and heavy as the snow ridden gnoll of a field was decorated with their prints. Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Kicking up a powder of snow, Opal readied her Masamune as it slid forward with a trail of pulsating ivory as it ignited her sword art. The blade whipped back leaving an after image of itself as she maneuvered it with both hands. As the first coyote came in to take her down, she shifted on her right foot and like a silver blur, the weapon went up cutting the mob in half, then a vertical slash creating a bolder orange damager marker upon the hide of the beast and a thrust towards the skull for the coup de grace. Unsheathing the blade from the coyote;s cranium, she flicked her wrist and placed her off hand on the hilt of the blade once more and readied to evade the next target. Unfortunately she was a little late in bringing her weapon back into position as she felt the tingling attack of jaws around her shin. With teeth sinking in, she took a small amount of damage before hurling the breed of dog in the opposite direction and evading the third coyote effortlessly. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 54/88 [+1 BD: Savvy]Energy: 8/22 [+1 Energy Reg]Sword Art: Hi Ougi, -3 Energy, 24 dmg - 11 =13Coyote 1: 0/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 2: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 3: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36610BD: 9+2 =11 [+1 Dmg]MD: 1-3 = 0CD: 5LD: 19 [+220 Col, +2 Mats]ID: 36614MD: 9-3 =6 [+1 Dmg]ID: 36615MD: 3-3 = 0 Edited October 29, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) With one pup grayed out, there were only two more to go. Opal had used the same position as last time, once more the ivory pulsating light returned to the curved katana again giving it a brilliant coating of life. As the second coyote attacked her, she quick stepped to the left like a blurring image. Her sword lifted upwards causing a massive gash to overturn in orange pixels along the neck of the beast, another snap of her wrist caused the blade to slant and come downwards rendering the beast immobile before thrusting the elongated blade into its skull and ripping it out destroying the creature in the process. The howling died as the coyote bayed and sought out to revenge its brother. With quick steps the lunging mass of fure collided with the air and not Opal as she danced around the beast and slid backwards into a snowy bank. Catching her balance, she shifted her arms once more, both hands on the hilt as she lowered her stance and got ready for the next strike. <<Battle Engaged>>Opal HP: 54/88 [+1 BD: Savvy]Energy: 8/22 [+1 Energy Reg]Sword Art: Hi Ougi, -3 Energy, 24 Dmg -11 =13Coyote 1: 0/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 2: 0/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgCoyote 3: 13/44 HP, 11 Mit, 12 DmgID: 36617BD: 5+1 =6MD:2 -3 =0CD: 12 [+2 Recovery]LD: 19 [+220 Col, +2 Mats]ID: 36618MD:7-3 =4 Edited October 29, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #18 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) All that was left was one more coyote to deal with. The woman raised her blade up adjacent to her arms as the shining glow of her sword art was about to take effect. Already expanding so much energy in this battle, this last art was all she needed to get the job done, pack up and head for an inn. Resting the blade in the air, her quick feet vaulted forward. Landing on her right foot, the woman swung with a twist of her body bringing the brilliant blade upwards to cut the coyote from below. Shifting her weight, she did a small hop and came down crashing the blade into the dull hide once more with a vertical chop. She then pulled the blade back into her side and thrust forward once more for the finishing blow and ended the coyote's existence. Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Opal had sheathed the Masamune once more, it had done her a job well done today as far as slaying some mediocre mobs. She could very well start climbing the Aincrad with the power she was amassing, but it was better to stay in isolated places and train on her own, she would not want to show off what skills she had to the public eye before for she believed they were still rudimentary at best right now. Shouldering the ornate saya, the woman knelt down and soaked her hands in the freezing cold snow attempting to search and locate any lose debris that could be considered worthy of a material. Apparently her luck had run dry in the last battle amounting to nothing in this search. Opal 0 Posted October 29, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Turning over a rock, Opal did not find anything of interest. Why she ended up turning over a rock in the snow? She could only fathom the idea. Sighing and getting up, she pat her knees cleans of the fresh white powder as she placed her hands on her hips and looked around for another suitable area to look for some materials. Where she had been standing, there was not much to look at except for snow miles and miles on end and with the night seemingly more unpleasant as time gone by, she decided to head back to Snowfrost, get herself in an Inn and rest her weary head. Dusting her hands off, the woman wanted to make sure she scored a good amount of loot before heading back and decided what she had was good enough to end the day. She would be back in the morrow for more mob farming. ID: 36639LD: 5<<+6 HP Regen>> 66/88<<2/3 EN Regen>> Edited October 29, 2015 by Opal
