[PP-F9] A Little Practice Never Hurts! - Bandit Camp (Calrex&Kalesh!) [Complete!]

Recommended Posts

Kalesh hummed in thought, momentarily scratching his head while he considered the two options laid out before him. He supposed he was the group leader since he invited Calrex here so he came to the strategic decision. "Let's be honest, neither of us are built for stealth..." He grinned back to Calrex "And you could probably wipe them all out in one go if you tried. I say we just run in and take them out... Tank first." He winked, offering to let Calrex take the lead on this one since that was the goal he built his character around more or less. At least, in Kalesh's mind. It was true that Kalesh was at his strongest while under attack, but he knew better than to get into a fight where he is vastly outnumbered. He simply lacks the power to fight many enemies at once.

Calrex gave a smirk and a nod in agreement with Kalesh, "I had a feeling. There's only a handful of players I have met that have specialized in stealth, and by that I literally mean I can count them on one hand."

Getting to his feet he gave a nod, "Alright then, let's get going Wolverine."

Drawing the Grand Blade he made his way down the slope until he was just outside the camp. Raising his sword high he activated the <<Howl>> skill, the pauldrons and poleyns of the Grand Dragoon armor beginning to emanate a light blue aura. Bringing his blade down against the earth the roar emanated from his armor as the aura burst out, radiating from the bluenette like a wave.

<<Howl>> Activated (+3 Hate to all opponents)

He laughed when Calrex called him wolverine, holding up his clawed fingertips "Aww come on! I went out of my way not to get the knuckle-mounted set!" He pushes a palm to his face as he followed after Calrex "I'm not going to specialize in stealth, but anybody can use it if they try hard enough I'd wager." He did admit it would take an element of luck however. That was a thought for another time though, his focus right now was on closing the distance between himself and his enemy! While the group of four bandits attempted to attack the stronger player he eagerly approached from behind and made four spinning cuts across one of their backs! Unfortunately though Kalesh didn't quite have enough power to kill these bandits in one regular attack. Before long he noticed the bandits hitpoints managed to barely hang onto the red which made him groan in dissatisfaction at the result. "So close!"

"Heh, alright then...Sabertooth!"

Hearing Kalesh's response to his comment gave Calrex a good laugh as he watched the young man fly at the bandits, slashing one to a sliver of his health bar, "Geezes, for the level he's at that's a lot of damage. He's definitely come a long way from before."

Seeing no potential opening in the bandit's formation he raised the Grand Blade high once again as he activated <<Howl>> for the second time, "Better safe than sorry."

As the sound wave emanated from his avatar once again the bandits' eyes flashed red for a second as they continued to mark him as their target. Extracting his sword from the ground Calrex faced the four, giving a small smirk, "Once that opening comes up these guys will be out of commission in a heartbeat."

He laughed at Calrex's new nickname saying back to the tank "Ohh yeah, that's MUCH better!" He smirked, idly considering when he plans to unlock battle healing. Probably after the passive buffs! Evaluating the situation before him, Kalesh soon realized "Ooh, unique! I hardly ever get to use this sword art! "He exclaims as he brings his hands to the opposite sides of his body, suddenly slashing outward and leaving a trail of red in their path which reaches out to leave claw marks on all of the bandits! The one he had targetted couldn't survive the onslaught, but it only minorly scratched the others. Still, it was the most efficient action! An observant eye would notice that the attack didn't even cost him an ounce of his energy. At this point he could kill each bandit off one by one if he tried! "There, I softened them up for you!" He says playfully, doubting it was necessary for him!

In the mean while the surviving bandits once again tried to assault Calrex, but only one bandit succeeding, managing to hit a blow on the surprisingly agile knight who chose no shield! Kalesh could see why. Though he was momentarily more interested in his sudden profits!

"Heh, thanks!"

Immediately following up after Kalesh's impressive area of effect Sword Art Calrex leapt up into the air, facing the ground as he reached the apex of his jump, "That technique was pretty impressive. I don't think Kalesh's energy bar dropped a single bit after it. I guess that's the efficient form of the attacks he was referring to earlier."

Descending from the heavens his sword lit up with a crackling light blue aura, almost as if he was channeling some form of element. As he activated his Sword Art <<Lightning Fall>> he impaled the Grand Blade into the ground, causing the energy to disperse as the three remaining bandits were electrocuted by the attack, dissipating into crystals.

Giving a calming breath Calrex resheathed his sword as he gave a nod, "Nice work. Looks like these guys weren't much trouble at all, heh."

He smirked, happily nodding to Calrex "They weren't quite as impressive as expected, I admit... Though to be fair..." He looks Calrex in the eye "This only went so smoothly since you were here. Even if I did dodge all their attacks up to this point, I only have enough energy to kill two more. Then I'd have to deal with the last one while regenerating my energy again." He smiled and shrugged his shoulders at the self-imposed idea he couldn't have won. "Still, I'm happy I got to dust off that sword art. It's only real use is on enemies without mitigation..." He chuckled softly and shrugged his shoulders "It's the only one this weapon gets. Everything else has to be done one on one." He chuckled softly, having a sense of envy for those who had weapons with dual usages, but he chose his path and would stick to it. He did have the option to remain a katana user, or even greatsword user at one point.

Kalesh reaches back behind his head and tugs the opposite arm, doing some stretches now that the fight was over. "It's going to take a long time to get as strong as you are now. And by then you'll be even tougher I bet." He rolled his eyes while looking around at the camp. "Hm..." He walks over and starts to go through their items curiously to see if they had anything of worth. Sadly it only seemed that they had some minor coin from their banditry. "Pfft. They certainly weren't tough. Only had 175 Col hanging around... You want some?" He looks back, offering to split the profit.

"Heh, well don't go downplaying yourself. The fact that you could have taken two more down before needing to regain your energy is an impressive feat, not to mention that Sword Art you just used which doesn't even use up any meter. I don't have any techniques which give that, so while the straight sword is a Swiss Army knife in terms of usage, it does have a limit. I think if the two of us were the same level, you might have the advantage in a one-on-one battle."

Giving a friendly smile Calrex gave a nod before shaking his head in response to the redhead's suggestion, "Nah, it's alright. Go ahead and keep the col. It's still more useful when you're making your way up. At this point I think I'm going to have to do most of my material and currency farming on the upper unlocked levels, especially if I'm going to get even close to enough for Teayre and I to get a house, heh."

"Speaking of which...nah I'll save it for when I see her."

"Hopefully I'll be even stronger by the time you get to where I am now. The experience grinding only gets harder as you move upwards. You'll need to likely work even harder than you have now in order to maintain a decent pace. Where I'm at...heh, well let's just say I'm hoping for more new field boss quests to be discovered."

Putting his hands into his jacket pockets he gave a calming breath, "In any case, shall we get started making our way back to the settlement?"

Kalesh blinked and then realized what had happened, chuckling as he said "Hmm. Not quite that is didn't cost energy so much as I regenerated it as fast as I could spend it." He shrugged weakly "The energy cost of that sword art was just so low I could regenerate it as quick as it was used." He pat his jacket "That's mostly in thanks to this." He was rather happy with the jacket he was wearing, it was perfect quality and over time it gave him energy back as he battled with his foe. The catch was that they needed to try and hit him. Miss or not, they had to act with hostility. He returned Calrex's smile and pocketed the Col and said "Yeah, houses are expensive. I'm just saving up for an extra inventory slot. I think I am like 4k off at this point..." He sighed dramatically "I do realize it's a waste though. In what situation am I going to use six items in one day?" He shrugs his shoulders and goes on "... I have nothing to do with a house sadly~ There are some nice buffs, but I don't feel any affinity with any floors yet." They were all nice, but none of them felt like a place to call home.

"Bah, you have tons of time before I even scratch the surface of your strength." He winked, humming a moment at Cal's next question to say "Actually, you go on ahead back. I think I am going to stick around a while longer." He looks over towards a mountainous region. "There is something I've been wanting to explore this floor for." He grinned mischievously, having his own goals for the next little while. "Not a field boss, just an ambition, I'll be fine." He says happily before saying "Though more field boss quests is something I need to do for more power." He glances over towards the labyrinth tower!

((I am actually just now realizing I made a mistake xP The energy recovery is supposed to be when I am attacked, but I was not under attack. Let's just roll with it for now since the battle would have ended the same either way :P You can have Calrex say his last words and then I will lock up if you want :) I don't want to rush it though.))

OOC; Lol sounds good. Yeah it worked out in any case XD.

IC:

"Well, it is always good to have a stock of healing items and teleportation crystals on hand, should the need arise. I tend to only have my basic teleport crystal at the ready, but heh, do as I say, not as I do right?"

Calrex gave a nod as his teammate suggested that he head on back ahead of him, as Kalesh had decided to do some more exploring out in the field zone, "Alright then, I'll catch you around. Stay safe out there."

Giving a friendly nod and a wave he began to make his way back to Vulcan Village, giving a small sigh of relief that he was returning back to the safe zone, "Best check and see what Teayre's up to. Maybe if she's in the stop I'll try and stop by to say hello. I haven't been dropping in as often as I did in the past, so I should probably make up for it."

Kalesh smiled and waved happily to Calrex "Seeya around! Thanks again for the help!" He called out to the leaving player. Kalesh himself walked in the opposite direction towards the more mountainous region of the floor, where there would probably be more volcanos spewing lava and the like for him to deal with. He had his crystal ready, if things when awry he'd just port out, no fuss. Still, he had a particular kind of prey in mind and he didn't have it in his heart to leave without at least locating his prey's spawn or rest point!

"Well, I think it's about time I try." He mumbles to himself while giving his claws a look over. He took a deep breath to calm himself and build up his resolve before taking off into a jog with his eyes scanning the sky instead of the ground or horizon. He was still curious what dragon meat tasted like.

Summary!
SP: 2 to Kalesh, 1 to Calrex
Col: 200 (Completion) to Calrex, 1050 (200 Completion+850Drop&Reward)
Materials: 5 to Kalesh, 3 to Calrex
