(SP-F8) Hitting Things For Mats

Manta entered the eight floor through the city teleport, landing in the center of Florenthia Village. Shed been here once before, but she hadn't been a high enough to level to hunt any of the monsters. Now that she had leveled multiple times (thanks to her questing with Koumori), she was prepared to go hunt for more materials. She was still waiting on her sword, so she was stuck with her starter sword. Still, thanks to The Koumori Hitter, she shouldn't have any trouble beating the monsters on this floor.  She had to keep getting stronger in order to protect the lower level players, even if that meant surpassing her friends.

Manta traversed her way through the trees, glad that Sousuke wasn't with her. It wasn't that she didn't like spending time with him or anything like that. It was for his own sake. It would be incredibly hard for him to make his way through the tops of the trees. His athletics skill would help him immensely, but in order to get around with any sort of speed, acrobatics was needed. Manta heard a loud caw noise coming from above, and she swung underneath the branch she had been holding, dodging the claws of the giant eagle that had swooped down. She swung back up around, her sword in hand, and unleashed a sword skill (<<Crucifixion>>) at the eagle in mid air, her sword impacting into it's side six times, tracing a cross there. She landed back on the branch, grinning wildly while brandishing her sword.

Manta jumped up and pushed off the side of the tree, propelling herself towards the bird, blade aimed at it's head. The bird flew straight at her, unfazed by the sword heading for it's face and aiming its own, sharp beak directly at her heart. It was some strange game of chicken, and at the last second the bird dived a foot, going beneath Manta. Manta shoved her feet down, colliding with the birds back and sending herself flying towards a nearby tree branch. She latched on, holding on with both hands before clambering up onto it.

Her sword gleamed in the sunlight that filtered through the canopy above as her sword plunged into the birds other side six times. The eagle had flown just a bit to close, and Manta had leaped off the branch she was on, sending a barrage of stabs at the bird, tracing another cross into the birds other side. She landed on another tree branch a bit further down as the bird hovered in the air for a moment before bursting into crystals. One material to go. She checked her energy bar. That had taken up almost all of her energy, and she'd only fought a single mob. She'd need to wait for her energy to regenerate before moving on.
