Vayrin 0 Posted November 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2015 Another day of quest assessing. Vayrin sighed as she lied against a rock on one of the mountains. She had been swishing through her menu, looking through her quest log. She tapped through it, seemingly uninterested in whatever she was searching for. One hand lied on the ground while the other merely donated a finger to her cause. The afternoon sun blazed down on her as she continued to gaze into her menu. This had pretty much been her day. After slaying some mobs on the 1st floor, Vayrin had come to the 2nd to review her quest log and judge which one's seemed to be doable. The reason why she came all the way up to the mountain to do that was simply because she enjoyed the view. With a sigh, Vayrin closed her menu and slowly stood up, making her way down the mountain path. The Quests on this floor still seemed to be too dangerous for her. Another day of grinding on the first would help that not be a reality for much longer. That's what she thought at least, as her hazy eyes guided her down the slopes.
Zelrius 0 Posted November 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2015 Zelrius sat on a rock, in "Thinking Man" statue position, given that was what he was doing exactly that moment: Being lost in thought. The boy was used to his Hydra Skull being upon his head and he still felt awkward without feeling the weight of it press down on his neck on a regular basis. As of this moment, Zelrius was only wearing his cloak and pendants. Under the cloak was his Golden threaded and all black tuxedo with the similarly golden Z on his lapel. His two blades were unstrapped from his hips and laid propped up against the rock he was sitting on. It was common that Zelrius would be found on this mountain at this particular spot. It was adjacent to the mountain that players often ventured up to fight the Wasp queen. Though it would seem like a bad idea to be so close, it was the proximity to which that allowed for the mountains desolation and secludedness. The boy quickly stood and turned as he heard footsteps making their way down the slope behind him. To him, the sound was strange, given he didn't remember seeing anyone climb up from the Slope below, nor hear them passby. Prehaps they were up there before I got to this particular location. His thoughts rationalized that solution in his mind. Zelrius stared at the girl, his piercing Dark blue eyes simply gazing at her. For a moment, he contemplated saying nothing, but found that would be rude. Rude simply wasn't in the blonde haired Commandant's nature, not commonly anyhow, and as of late he had been trying to be less and less so. Relaxing, the boy put on his Egotistical Facade that most recognized him with. The arrogant grind widening and his voice coming through with the same speech pattern he had grown accustom to in his time in Aincrad. "Greetings and Salutations, nice day, is it not?" Vayrin 0 Posted November 7, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Vayrin continued to walk down the slope of the large mountain, seemingly unconcerned about anything else at the moment. The rocks clipped beneath her boots, some of them falling off the cliff that lay beside her. She turned around the slope corner and noticed a rather large rock. She didn't take too much time observing it however. It had been the same as it was before when she came up the trail. Or was it? She quickly noticed another player sitting on top of it, in a rather peculiar pose. He seemed to have blonde hair and an overall Black and Gold look to him. Strange to see someone like him all the way up here, seeing as the rest of the trail had seemed devoid of any life. She began to walk past him, ignoring the strange presence he gave off. That's when he spoke. Vayrin turned about halfway facing the boy on his perch. He had done the classic conversation starter, so she figured it was rude to simply ignore him. "Yeah, I guess so. Depending on what a 'nice' day is to you." Vayrin said again in her serious tone, unintentionally sounding a little rude.
Zelrius 0 Posted November 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Well, I tried. There's my one good idea. The boy thought as her response came across, and Zelrius simply saw it as her quickly dropping the conversation off. Zelrius' arrogant grin quickly faded away, the facade disappearing in an instant. "Is it not a nice day to you?" He said, his tone simply flat and clearly her comment had brought him down a few pegs in spirit. The boy wasn't entirely sure why he retorted another question like he did, quite honestly he was already done with this conversation and it his facial expressions made this abundantly clear. Sitting back down on his rock, the boy went back to thought. Though, the difference between this time and the last time he was sitting on the rock, Zelrius held the two swords closer to him, as if in fear she'd try to take one. He continued to simply look out into the distance, only ever so lost in his own thoughts. Lately this had been common place for him, as Zelrius was insufferably tired of the happenings with other Players. Most either hated him or were using him for his attack damage by this point, both of which only pushed the Blonde haired boy farther and farther from the social life he once had. Vayrin 0 Posted November 7, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Whoops Vayrin could tell by the expression on the boy's face that she had sounded a bit rude. Not what she was intending. So she instead decided to fix it. "Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude. That's just my regular tone." Vayrin said with a small smile, hoping that would lift the spirits she seemingly lowered on the boy. To break the silence that would follow, Vayrin gazed up at the sky and looked at the clouds. "The day is nice I guess, just boring." Who'd figure being stuck inside another world with a sword on your back would become boring at some point? She looked back at the boy who had been in his position. She was curious so she couldn't help but ask. "Whats that pose for? Thinking about something deeply I assume?" Vayrin said smiling. Zelrius 0 Posted November 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2015 "Boring, Aye, That's one word for it," He responded, his voice flat. The word boring had seemed to be popping up for him more and more with each passing day. Boring was probably the only appropriate word for his ceaseless lack of excitement and interest in much anything. For a moment, he was simply lost in trance, and though he heard her words it was a little bit before he actually processed them and responded. "Always thinking deeply. At least, as of late." His short hand response was not intended to sound rude, but often they had done so, especially when coupled with his flat and monotone voice the boy kept when he wasn't pretending to be arrogant. For a moment, the boy contemplated more, than a thought struck him. He voiced the question in his head out loud to the woman. "What are you doing here on Floor 2? More specifically: What are you doing here on the same slope as me, talking to someone you don't even know?" It wasn't often that players would be found doing things terribly important in places that didn't matter. He was actually curious as to her reasoning for being on this particular mountain and not the one nearby, where she could possibly be grinding the Wasp Quest.
Vayrin 0 Posted November 7, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted November 7, 2015 "No reason in particular." Vayrin responded to the boy's question. She looked out at the large expansive mountain range. "I just came here to think. I like the view." She said as she turned back towards the boy. "May ask you the same thing. You seem to look like a high leveled player, so why come all the way down here?" Vayrin asked curiously. He indeed look like a high leveled player. His rare pair of swords showed her he had the unique skill of duel wielding. Something no low level would be able to obtain. "Forgive me if I sound nosey, just curious." She said again. Perhaps he had the same intention she did. Just to think. the view up here was quite nice as well so she would not be too surprised if that was the case.
Zelrius 0 Posted November 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2015 "My reasoning is the same as yours. The Second floor is rarely inhabited, with temporary residents coming and going in just a few moments to fight the Wasp Queen here and then leave shortly thereafter. Top that with the location of this mountain, and I have a fortress of solitude. That is, until you came along." In the Commandant's mind, this particular player didn't seem to be too much of hassle, especially when compared to some of the personalities he had met in the game so far. In thinking this, he visibly relaxed, letting the two sword ease from his grip and once more simply lean against the rock. To Zelrius, this girl didn't seem like the type to come and attempt to steal his swords for malicious intent, and even if she was, Zelrius was still a grand-master in curved blade and had the Absolved Blade stored in his inventory at all times, just for the occasion that a thief may arise. "My turn to be nosey then," He said in a humorous tone in response to her final comment. "Do you have anything planned for the day, and if so, mind if I come along? Though I do enjoy the scenery and solitude, it gets insufferable boring after a few hours, and I think some entertainment is due."
Vayrin 0 Posted November 8, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted November 8, 2015 Well, it was what she expected. All people needed some quiet time to think for a while, especially in SAO. She had heard of many people in SAO who had gone crazy because they couldn't accept the reality they were now living in. Some even saw it was pointless to try and clear the game. Some became PKers... Vayrin quickly shook her thought though when the blonde haired boy spoke up again. Her eyes widened a bit. She had been surprised by his last comment. Not often did anyone care to accompany her, seeing as she had been a Solo player. She thought for a moment though, and came up with a response. "You want to come with me?" She said rather confused as to why the higher level wanted to tag along. "I don't really have anything planned." She said again, opening her menu and reviewing her quest log "I mean, I have a few quests, but I can't do them yet."
Zelrius 0 Posted November 9, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 9, 2015 The boy stood, nonchalantly dusting his slacks and tuxedo off, while fiddling with his bowtie to get it back into place. Whilist reclipping the leather straps for both swords around his waste the boy turned to Vayrin, his cloak flourishing with the movement. He laughed at her comment about not being able to do them. "Pick any quest on that list out, I am positive that I am able to handle it with little to no effort." He spoke, his arrogance shoning through a little, though this time it being legitimate arrogance, and not just his usual facade. "Hell, why not do them all? The frontlines doesn't need me right this moment and I would be fine with wasting my time helping a low level do their quests. As long as there is promise that I will see you on said frontlines in the future." The golden haired Commandant was genuinely interested in seeing if this Vayrin would actually show up to the Frontlines if they were presented with the opportunity.
Vayrin 0 Posted November 9, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted November 9, 2015 Vayrin quickly caught on to his state of mind. He wanted to help her with her quests. She looked at him for a moment, not doubting his abilities. Assuming his words about being a front liner were true, he could handle anything Vayrin had trouble with. And his rather strange clothing choice suggested he wasn't afraid to either. Vayrin put one hand on her hip when he talked about seeing her on the frontlines in the future. "That's the plan." She replied. "Been trying to level up as fast as I can so I can get to the front lines quickly." Everything she said had been true. She had been tired of spending her days alone in the Town of Beginnings, so she was going to help clear the game as best as she could. Vayrin then proceeded to look at her menu. "How about this one?" She turned so the boy could see it. She had been pointing to a quest on the 2nd floor. "Kill a wasp queen. Does not sound too difficult, and the rewards are good." She looked up, hoping he'd been willing to take up her offer.
Zelrius 0 Posted November 9, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 9, 2015 The boy walked up to and stood next to her, peering over Vayrin's shoulder at the panel she was referring to when mentioning the quest. Zelrius nodded, looking at the adjacent mountain that held the Wasp Queen boss area. Looking down the slope, Zelrius sighed and looked back to Vayrin. Sending a party invite, Zelrius began to walk down the side of the mountain they were on, and at an angle that would take him to the other mound of dirt in question. "That quest sounds quiet alright. Are we off then?" The boy knew in his mind that the walk there and this little introdcution would be far longer than the actual fight. The golden haired boy could see it in his mind already, it would be as simple as pulling out his two blades and using even one of the weakest of his sword arts on the Wasp, killing it. But that'd be even less fun than this boss fight already is. His mind reminded him of his insufferable and ever-lasting boredom.
Vayrin 0 Posted November 9, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted November 9, 2015 Happy with his response, Vayrin quickly closed her menu. The notification on her menu alerted her to aparty invite. She looked at the boys name. Zelrius. She'd remember that when she thanked him. After that, the two of them began walking down the slopes towards the place where the wasp queen had supposidly spawned. She tried her best to keep up with him. Her hand ready to pull out her sword in case trouble showed up. She took this time to notice what the boy was wearing. she could'nt help but say something. "Thats a rather odd getup for a front liner." She said smiling. "Unless this isint your normal attire. Did you come from a formal party or something?"
