Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Story 2 Death of Love Series Blood in the Sand || Out, damn'd spot... " Where will you be when God is glorifying? There we will be between the dead and dying Where will you be my darling? Where will you be when God is glorifying? " Opening a smokey mouth, an orange cloud burst forth from parted lips, a stream of orange mixed with the wild heat radiating from this floor had caused the woman to buckle from the heat finding recluse in the sheltered tavern of Armadillo. Sitting softly on a bar stool in this heat driving village the woman continued to smoke her cigarette and drink heavily of the amber beer in her half empty glass. Leaning to one side, she placed a blushing cheek over her palm as she looked outside the door to see nothing but sand and hot wind rushing through as it opened. She scoffed to herself, clicking her fingers for another refill. As she scanned her menu quickly she found a quest marker in the village. She figured it was another Traveler quest, she had no desire to do that again. But finding it curious none the less, she examined the contents of the quest and noted it to be a hack and slash one. Raising a dark thin brow over one eye, she moved from her seat and drank the new glass of beer in front of her, swinging down the contents in four easy gulps. Beer was easy to go down thanks to Mack and the party some time ago. Edited November 13, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Throwing col on the table for the drinks, Opal set out of the tavern of Armadillo and the blistering heat once more washed over her body. The <<Survival>> skill came in handy for this floor, the heat was intense for the young woman and her choice of colors helped provide little comfort in the intense waves of the solar rays. Amber eyes glazed outwards towards the edge of town as she made her way towards the edge of the safe zone. Sweeping a hand over her menu, light fingers played across the screen as she accessed her weapons and tapped on the Masamune. From the air to her hand, she grabbed ahold of the saya and whipped her blade out with one fluid motion, discarding the ornate scabbard into the inventory once more. A dangling orange stick giving off the citrus scent hung low as she puckered her lips to take in long inhale. Taking a step out of the safe zone, this would be here first adventure alone on this floor. The desert was vast, but she held strong to her beliefs that she would not fail, would not falter. Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Into the desert she strolled out to, vast and empty. Harsh heated winds blew by her exposed flesh, almost as if hot nails were driving into her flesh. Sweat accumulated on darkened brows as she moved through the desert with a slow and steady pace. A hand waved over that sweaty brows, brushing away the perspiration and flicking her wrist to remove the taint from her skin. Amber eyes sought out for mobs or distraction while she hunted for the Hatori creature that lived within the sand. If she could go a day in this heat, it would be a miracle. Hot eyes searched until she came upon a flock of oversized vultures, it would only be so quaint that she would find these buzzards in the desert scavenging for anything they could or peel off from bone. With a hand raised she entered the aggro zone of these buzzards and slowly swept her blade side to side gaining their attention, all the while; hot smoky puffs of orange billowed from her ruby lips. The heat of the sun and the heat of battle were on their way to her. Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) A steady stream of smoky orange escaped her ruby lips at the scented aroma filtered and twisted into the arid heat. The oversized vultures, normally those that scavenged and picked apart what was already dead didn't seem to be in the waiting mood to wait for this Untouchable Queen to fall. Like a blur she sped through their ranks her blade sweeping across thin necks only to pass through them without so much as a scratch to her pure white armour, nor a feathered plucked or pulled from the winged beasts. Desert orange and coarse red grains kicked off the dusty valley as she skid back and repositioned her body for the next attack. All was not lost for this upcoming battle, she would test these birds and her very own courage and desire to battle in this heat. Honey eyes watched as she lifted the Masamune up, a puff of orange and a grin. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+3 BD next roll] EN: 24/26 Sword Art: -2 Miss Oversized Vulture 1: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 2: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 3: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 4: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg ID: 38321 BD: 4 MD: 2 ID: 38322 MD: 2 ID: 38323 MD: 5 ID: 38324 MD: 5 Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Before they could gather wind and flock to her demise, Opal lifted her blade. Ivory and silver running over the length of the katana as it was dipped into the heavenly force of the Sword Arts. She would waste no time in cutting through this flock of deranged looking buzzards and she let lose her most decimating of arts. Winds curved and peeled towards her, heat and demise cut through the feathers of the large birds as they were sliced and diced by the heated vacuum. Yet as the art finished it drive, the buzzards were remarkably still standing. Their bodies had been torn to shreds, black feathers mask the air as they could not sway to the symphonic beatdown that Opal had laid upon them. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+3 BD this roll] EN: 6/26 [+1 Regen] Sword Art: Haku Senpu, 19 Energy [AoE+Stun], 64 Dmg -13 Mit = 51 Dmg Oversized Vulture 1: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 2: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 3: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 4: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Vultures 1-4: [Stunned] ID: 38326 BD: 5+3 =8 MD: 1-4 = 0 Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Well...that didn't go according to plan. A random sandstorm had blocked her attack from continuing forth as she cut through what felt like a sandstone wall as she was about to cleave the four Overgrown Vultures to their doom. As the heat and wind dissipated, Opal watched as the birds began to slightly turn and move from their stunned state, "[censored] on me..." she grunted as the dangling cigarette bobbed as she voiced her comment on the situation. Gritting teeth and lifting the elongated katana, the masamune was hefted to shoulder height as she leaned forward and waited for the next attack to come, if it would. If she could power through this sandstorm and cut through it cleanly enough, she could sweep these creatures clean and collect her rewards. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+1 BD next roll] EN: 5/26 [+1 Regen] Sword Art: Miss -2 Energy Oversized Vulture 1: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 2: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 3: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 4: 1/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Vultures 1-4: [Stunned] ID: 38327BD: 4 Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Silver and ivory once more mixed coating the blade as Opal spun on her feet, her long blade cutting through the thick armor like hide the vultures wore as black feathers were covered in dark orange slashes from her sword art. The weakest art she had, yet the one she needed to destroy them all with a strike. Feeling the blazing sun against her back, Opal watched as the birds flocked together and poffed into digital nothingness leaving behind their feathers as gifts of the reward. Breathing in and out with the rising of her chest, the woman bent over with a small grunt and collected the materials from the desert sand. Eyes crossed over to the barren wasteland and she flicked her blade to the left, removing the impurities and the inverting the edge to behind her. Removing the orange stick from her mouth, she flicked the orange ashes into the air and continued on unlocking the rest of the floor. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+1 BD this roll] EN: 4/26 [+1 Regen] Sword Art: Tsumuji Guruma, 2 Energy AoE, 8 Dmg -13Mit = 1 Dmg Oversized Vulture 1: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 2: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 3: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Oversized Vulture 4: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg ID: 38328BD: 7+1 =8 Rewards: +4 Mats Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Noticing that her Haku Senpu sword art no longer one hit kills the beasts of the sand, Opal swiped her menu with a flick of her wrist. A painted red nail danced across her menu board as she highlighted her inventory and pushed on another button revealing her combat battle items. Amber eyes traveled across to the number next to the item she wanted to use, and sighed before clicking on it. Poofing in her hand the red liquid shined and shimmered in the bright orange glow of the dead heat sun. Drawing her blade forth, the woman started to coat the blade with red liquid. Pulsating once, then twice the katana dimmed down from dark crimson to the cool sheen of silver purity. Giving her overall damage a boost a few points, that would aid in the upcoming battle against the mobs here in this land as well as carving the heart of the Hitori Sand Shark that she would end up meeting down the glass wasteland. -Used 1: +2 Dmg Pot- <<EN Regen 1/3>> Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal

Opal had not found anything remotely useful in this wasteland as she combed the ground where she stood looking for anything that could be used for her alchemical needs. Sighing as she got up and lifting hands from dirty sand, the woman arched her back and stretched giving an exaggerated yawn. No one was stupid enough to come out to this desert alone, who knew what weird ass hell sand wyrm could come and gobble you up at any moment. She shifted her eyes from center to the left and took a long drugging drag from her cigarette. Plump lips helped expel the citrus scent into the air as it mixed with wave after wave of heated winds that washed over her perspiring body. Running a hand over her neck and she sluggishly walked through the desert, Opal once more opened her inventory and materialized within her grasp a cold bottle of water. Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) ID: 38333LD: 1<<EN Regen 3/3>> Twisting the cap off and craving the clear liquid within, Opal drank heavily of the contents within. The cold liquid splashed in the cavern of her mouth as she chugged half the contents in one go. Letting out a womanly belch from the depths her belly, the woman blinked and looked around to see if anyone had heard her. Finding that she was indeed alone made her more comfortable, something like that might have rattled someone. Besides it was impolite and unlady like. She scoffed at her own idea and shook her head, the fabricated black curtain of hair from her eyes moved as her eyes squinted to see something rumbling in the sand. "The [censored]? It's not the Hitori..." Four large veins roamed underneath her as she gripped the blade tight in one hand as she kept up her guard. Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Erupting from the sand was a flurry of red and orange as four monstrous looking wurms came out of the desert sand like geyser. Opal's eyes shot wide open as she was sprayed with coarse sand from the sudden eruption. Engaging her <<Acrobatic>> skill, the woman ducked and weaved through the four wurms as their massive jaws came crashing down attempting to scoop her up and devour her digital body. She would have none of that today as her feet moved through the sand with all the grace as if she were walking on thin air. Skating around in the sand, the woman produced her blade and attempted to cleave one of the targets as it shot towards her. Her blade skimmed across the armor of the wurm and bounced back at her. Her swing didn't have enough oomph in it to take it down. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+2 Dmg-Pot] [+3 BD nxt roll] EN: 24/26 Sword Art: Miss -2 EN Sand Wurm 1: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 2: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 3: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 4: 52/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg ID: 38334 BD:2 MD:2 ID: 38335 MD:4 -4 = Miss ID: 38336 MD: 6-4 = Miss ID: 38377 MD: 3-4 = Miss Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal
Opal 0 Posted November 12, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Opal was shocked that her Masamune was overflowing with destructive power. The vibrant ivory and silver mixed together with a defining crimson seemed to shatter the very earth she stood. Placing the blade in front and holding with both hands, like quicksilver, she shot through the sand sprinting, twisting and turning her body as she decimated the Sand Wurms with a quick and unimaginable strike that sent them into oblivion. The loud groans and after shock of the attack left nothing but still air and hot wind around her, as beads of sweat strolled down the curvaceous nature of her body. Breathing heavily from the taxing attack and the brutal arid heat, the woman whipped her blade to the side and gathered her rewards quickly. Amber eyes scanned the area and she continued her trek through the desert plateau. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 104/104 [+2 Dmg-Pot] [+3 BD this roll] EN: 13/26 [+1 Regen] Sword Art: Gen Getsu, 12 Energy, 72 Dmg-13 Mit =59 Dmg Sand Wurm 1: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 2: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 3: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg Sand Wurm 4: 0/52, 13 Mit, 15 Dmg ID: 38338 BD: 10+3 = Overkill [+2 Dmg] MD:3-4 = Miss Rewards: +4 Mats Edited November 12, 2015 by Opal

Dull amber stared into the hazey horizon of the fifth floor, only to see that there was a never ending expanse to the desert terrain. Slowly drunk to savor the taste of the minerals mixed with the solution that would quench her thirst. As she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, an odd desert rose stuck out in the middle of the desert like a sore thumb. Icy and cold breath on her exposed flesh as the woman shivered from the sudden blast of cold. Whipping white winds tore through now burning white sand as it was uprooted, spiraled in place and then dumped off into another location. Opal's eyes could only make out the white rush of sand that lay before her, sweat on her brow not dry and her body becoming heavy with the sudden burden of coldness. As she rushed to get to her feet, her amber eyes peered at what looked like four massive holes caving on each other. Taking several steps back, she watched as reskinned golems birthed from the planet's crust and erupted from their slumber. "Tch!" her body was ragged and tired as it was, not wanting to deal with this enemy right now. Brandishing her weapon rather weakly, she felt the sudden surge of white and ivory encompass the blade and strengthening the aura around it. Engaging her <<Sprint>>, she was gone with a blink of an eye as the katana blade cut through layers and layers of hard stone skin until it cut straight through their cores. Every heavy step she took paved the white sand with her booted feet as she slowly climbed over the harsh region. As she looked up, the white stars frantically glimmered in the darkness of the sky, hoping that one individual below would watch as they shimmered and danced before them. Opal's ruby lips curved, she had lost her cigarette in that last battle and was too tired to summon another. She found comfort in the coldness, the numbing winds grazing over her exposed flesh. She would find peace in the coldness, much like she had done on floor four and in Snowfrost. However, fortune would soon turn to a golden hour as she sought a small oasis filled with plenty of water. Making a small sprint towards the waters the woman hurled her body into the cold sand and began cupping her hands to take in the replenishing liquid that seem to unburden her heavy bones. Hands trickled through the water as she found the mineral deposits to shimmer in her hand. Quickly taking out a small flask, she inventoried the substance and kept it for a later time. Smiling to herself, she materialized the seasoned dry meat and started to chew on it until the robust flavor came to life in her mouth. It did little to satisfy the craving of food, but it was enough to keep her going. Feeling refreshed and now awake with a little food in her belly, the woman got up and noticed a star shaped flower off by the cool waters reflecting what appeared to be a full moon.
